There is a great need for parental involvement in both the extra curricular s and in the education process.Children spend most of their time at home.I would not say with the parents as today most of the children spend more time with baby sitters rather than with their parents.I would prefer if the parents contribute the maximum towards their childrens' mental and social intelligence.
Parents need to have a better understanding about which activities their child is comfortable with and with which they are not .The teachers definitely land up with a strong rapport with the children most often but they can never substitute or duplicate the strong bond between the parent and the child.What requires the teacher a very long time can be accomplished by the parent in a very short span.Parents should understand and utilize the advantages they possess over that of a teacher and ensure that they pay more attention towards their child.This helps in attaining better performance for the child and greater interest in the learning process.
The parents understanding of their child also acts like a benchmark tool in helping the teacher to guide the child in the learning process.
Parenting and Teacher are the parallel processes that grooms the child's complete mental and emotional state of mind.If both the parents and the teachers co-ordinate and work together hand in hand complimenting one another there is nothing that cannot be achieved by the child.
Most often the child tends to play one against the other with these two entities.The reason being the lack of communication between the parent and the teacher.The child tends to view them separately and there is a big gap between the child and the parent.The teacher and the parent , the parent and the child ,the child and the teacher which hinders the smooth learning process.
A good level of communication between the teacher and the parents ensures a smooth learning system and guarantees the child's good performance at school and at home simultaneously.
