Kids’ social intelligence starts at home right from their birth, with parent as leading them. There is a need for perfect parenting to develop a sound social intelligence. Such parenting requires less of paper work but more of practical knowledge. Social growth is a round the clock phenomenon from the time he wakes up till he goes to bed. There is an absolute necessity to define clear rules and duties and to guide them with the energized and enthusiastic parenting.
When a child misbehaves as a sign of good parenting we have to identify whether he has done it on purpose or because there is a lack of knowledge. And then it is our primary responsibility as parents to provide him that information unambiguously and happily. Instead we land up on him with shower of abuses. This is a failure on our part of parenting. We as parents should guide them through the process and teach them how to behave and make sure he retains such merits. But if the child has committed the mistake intentionally it becomes difficult on our part to perform our parenting on the calmer side. Let me tell you how to handle such situations. This is a long term process and cannot be achieved overnight.
- Do your teaching happily and frequently.
- Assign awards for completion of responsibilities and penalty for incomplete work to every family member.
- Allocate privileges to specific members based on status in family.
- Avoid the stick methodology while parenting.
- Identify the virtues in your children and keep mentioning about their merits .
